Lucky Finds to Be Green and Wear Green

By Chrissy Gray, Event Planner

St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and you know what that means – time to pull out the green and avoid the pinch!  With lots of fun, eco-friendly options, this year it’s easy to be green while celebrating with your friends. Check out some of our favorites below…

For chic eco apparel, Elroy‘s got it covered. Perfect for your St. Patty’s Day celebration and pretty much any day after, this dress is made with 60% pineapple silk. Yep, pineapple! I didn’t know it was possible either, but apparently the fiber has been used for centuries to create super soft clothing. Love it!

Maybe wearing green panties won’t help you avoid getting a pinch, but sporting them will help protect the oceans and recover sea turtle populations affected by the Gulf oil spill. Made with organic cotton from the online store Pact, a percentage of sales goes towards Oceana’s marine efforts.

Every day is a good day to support world peace, so why not St. Patrick’s Day! This shirt was hand screen printed by RC Tees with super soft organic pima cotton.

We can’t forget about the lil’ leprechauns of course! These super cute handmade booties were designed with eco-friendly felt and an elastic band to stay snug on infants feet. Don’t they look cozy?!

They may be a bit silly, but these earrings do fit the green theme? They’re made out of recycled legos!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from GRN Events!!

Living with a Positive Footprint

By Chrissy Gray, Event Planner

Tomorrow night, the OC non-profit, Ecofficiency.org, will be celebrating the launch of their new speaker series, Living with a Positive Footprint, at The Camp in Costa Mesa from 7-9pm. Focusing on different consumer related sustainability topics, such as travel, fashion, and food, the year long series will be happening on the third Wednesday of every month, beginning Wednesday, March 16th. If you’re in the So Cal area tomorrow night, join them for their kick off party. Hors d’Oeuvres will be served from Taco Asylum (the new, delicious and sustainable taco shop), organic cocktails, beer, and wine wine will be available, and DJ Lyns will be spinning tunes. Eat. Drink. Learn – and have a great time doing it!

Organization with Daily Inspiration

By Chrissy Gray, Event Planner

I came across a neat company the other day called LobotoMe. Based in Colorado, the company creates organizational kits from 100% recycled materials. From MommyMe – a new mom kit  – to CheckMe – a grocery checklist – all of the products are designed to ‘help you stay sane.’ :) My favorite is the MantraMe poster below:
