The Slam was a charity skateboarding festival attended by over 3,000 people at the Volcom Skatepark in Costa Mesa. GRN Events was responsible for all planning logistics, marketing and promotion, print collateral, and website creation. The event included over 15 vendors from the action sports industry, as well as several non-profit organizations that provided an educational component to the event. 10 bands performed throughout the afternoon while hundreds of people participated in the all-ages skate contest. GRN Events hired outside companies to ensure sustainable elements were maintained throughout, including alternative fuel for power and volunteer monitored recycling and composting stations. All marketing collateral for the event was printed on recycled paper with vegetable inks and an eco education area was set-up to show attendees how The Slam was created sustainably.
